1. The QXP4 Plug XTension works with the Preflight Pro and Preflight Designer XTensions to gather information specific to your QuarkXPress 4.0 documents. This XTension is designed to work with QuarkXPress 4.0 only. It is not compatible with earlier versions of QuarkXPress.
2. To inspect a version 3.3 document in QuarkXPress 4.0 you must first convert the document to QuarkXPress 4.0 format. To do this, open the document in QuarkXPress 4.0 and choose Save from the File menu. At the bottom of this dialog is an option to choose the version to save in, choose version 4.0.
3. If you attempt to inspect a QuarkXPress 4.0 document in QuarkXPress 3.3 you will be presented with an error dialog stating "QuarkXPress encountered an error. This document can't be opened by this version of QuarkXPress." These documents must be inspected using QuarkXPress 4.0.
4. In Preflight Pro the profile item "Output Set to be Reduced or Enlarged" will not report for some documents if you choose the "Capture Settings" button in the Print dialog.
5. In QuarkXPress 4.0 the term "Screen Angle" has been changed to "Halftone". Preflight Pro and Designer still refer to this as Screen Angle.
6. Preflight Pro and Designer will report Multi-Ink colors as standard CMYK process colors. If the multi-ink color definition includes a spot color, this will be ignored.
7. The QuarkXPress 4.0 XTension Manager can cause problems if the manager dialog appears during the inspection process. In order to work around this either disable the XTension Manager in the QuarkXPress 4.0 preferences dialog, or launch QuarkXPress 4.0 prior to beginning inspection.
